Fab Fillipo



Fabrizio Filippo is a Toronto actor who has appeared on television shows including Street Legal, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and most recently, Billable Hours which he co-created. Filippo is also an active member of the Toronto theatre scene as a writer, director and actor.

 

My stomach is green because I eat as much organic food as I can.

What made you decide to do your bit for the environment?

Ignoring the environment is like standing on a railroad track, seeing the train coming at you from a distance, not moving, but hoping it won’t hit you.

What person or group do you most admire for their environmental commitment?

Anyone who was doing it before it was cool.

What is your environmental pet peeve? What do other people do (or not do) that drives you crazy?

People who think that because they have kids they now need an SUV.

What could the whole world live without in order to help our environment?

Styrofoam containers.

What's in your Blue Box?

Newspapers, magazines, egg cartons, the little paper tabs on tea bags, pill bottles, wine bottles… you name it.

Is there an environmental initiative you’re involved in that you’d like to highlight or promote?

I performed in last year’s Fringe Festival production of “An Inconvenient Musical”. I also try and shop only at places that I’m sure are environmentally-responsible. My favourite grocery store is the Carrot Common on the Danforth. It’s important everyone asks who they’re giving their money to.
