Frank Ferragine is the weather specialist for City TV's Breakfast Television, and the gardening specialist for CityNews.
My body is green because I live my life constantly looking to improve the environment. From my gardening practices, to the food I eat, I'm always trying to learn and become a better citizen. My family is made up of local farmers and flower growers so fresh, live, local and green is my mantra.
What made you decide to do your bit for the environment?
When I was 19, I got a tattoo of a tree frog located right over my heart. The environment has played a very important part of who I am as a person. I really never made an active decision to be that way; it just was the right choice. The birth of my son Gavin reinforced this as I want him to enjoy everything I enjoyed growing up.
What person or group do you most admire for their environmental commitment?
Bob Hunter (co-founder of Greenpeace).
What is your environmental pet peeve? What do other people do (or not do) that drives you crazy?
Abuse of water washing driveways, leaving sprinklers on in the daytime, sprinklers that water roads not gardens! Water is the world's greatest resource and something we shouldn't abuse.
What could the whole world live without in order to help our environment?
GREED...
What's in your Blue Box?
Juice cartons, yoghurt containers, sauce cans, juice bottles, junk mail, newspapers, and much more.
Is there an environmental initiative you're involved in that you'd like to highlight or promote?
Toronto, York and Peel Regions' WaterSaver Program.
